Aird Rachdaig No. 1 – The aird can be seen above the left side of the cloud shadow in the centre of this image scene taken from atop Sgorr Mhór and looking westward.  The islands of Colonsay and Oransay may just be made out on the horizon.  The place name quite likely refers to the fact that the Gulf of Corrievreckan, though at least 3 kilometres to the northeast, usually generates a substantial tidal noise that can only be described as a roar.
