Bealach na Maoiseach landscape

Bealach ma Maoiseich No. 1 – A tremendous view from Cruach an Uillt Fhearna to the southwest with the northern head of Loch Tarbert just visible.  From this point to Loch Tarbert it is some 7 kilometres as the crow flies, thus demonstrating the great change in elevation on Jura.  This also shows the tendency of the topography to run from the northeast to southwest, thus providing a valuable lesson to hillwalkers and scientists alike as to how previous inhabitants moved about the island’s landscape.
