Carn Oscair - (The) cairn (of the) champion or intrepid one. This is likely a reference to one of the legendary Fingalian warriors, Oscar, who was the son of Ossian (pronounced U-sheen). MacLeod translates as the same. 6230 9220

Carn Oscair No. 1 – A view from Cruach an Uillt Fhearna with the area where the carn is located being directly beneath Creag Mhór in the image’s lower centre, marked by bracken with an exposed rock outcrop in the middle. There is no visible sign of a large cairn in 2003, however, Oscair is one of the legendary names of the Finnian heroes of Ireland and west Scotland, so this may be a referral to these semi-mythical persons.
