Keils landscape

Keils house No. 5 – One of the many houses of the Keils settlment that are now in ruins.  This view is from the south and taken during the summer of 2003.  Very few of the remaining houses in the settlement are now inhabited on a full-time basis and only a very few more are holiday homes.  Many of the structures were put under a restrictive building ban by Historic Scotland in the 1970s and 1980s, thus leading to their almost total ruin by the year 2003.
